Obituary of Mrs. Henry Vodden, Died May 3, 1901
Submitted By Wayne Henderson - Sep 6, 2000

Mrs. Henry Vodden died at her home in Cortland Friday evening, May 3,after a weeks illness. She had been a great sufferer for many weeks with attacks of inflammation and obstruction of the bowels. These attacks became more severe and more frequent until they culminated in the fatal one. Her physicians thought there was a malignant growth in the intestines.
Mrs. Vodden was a kind old lady well liked by those who knew her well. The funeral service was held in the M.E.church, Sunday at 11 a.m., Rev. A. B. Smart officiating. The internment was at the cemetery in South Grove.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Vodden leaves four sons and two daughters to mourn her loss; John and Fred Vodden, of Esmond, two sons still residing in England; Mrs. Jones living in the town of DeKalb, and Mrs. Tucker living near Malta.
